What is the difference between inactive and dormant volunteers?

A volunteer is dormant if he or she has neither been scheduled nor submitted a change to his or her profile on the Web Terminal in the past three months. This volunteer will be able to access VSP just like any other volunteer, and will still continue to get communication emails through VSP.  If a volunteer does make changes to their profile or sign up for a position, they will become non-dormant which is not a reversible action. When considering the size of your VSP subscription, we count only non-dormant volunteers.

A volunteer is inactive if they have the "Make this volunteer inactive for now (don't schedule at all)" box checked in their profile in the Volunteers pane. This volunteer will not get emails from VSP (unless you include inactive volunteers). They can still log in to the Web Terminal to access and make changes to their profile but will not be able to sign up for any available positions until they are made active again.
