Because SMS messages are not free to send, we need to pass the cost of sending these messages, so there is an additional charge for using these features. However, we are working to keep this cost as low as possible. Each text message reminder and any replies sent will be billed at $0.02 per message. When you open an SMS account for your subscription, you’ll receive 100 free messages. 

Once the balance on the account drops below $5.00, VSP will send an email and the account can be re-charged when necessary. Your account can also be setup to be re-charged automatically.

Please note that although most cell phone plans include text messages, some volunteers may be charged a small fee (around $0.02 / message) for receiving text messages.
